We have heard time and time again: "you are what you eat" and if you've suffered from haemorrhoids, you will understand just how much diet can impact the level of suffering when going to the toilet. A high fibre diet and plenty of water can help to keep bowel movements regular by bulking out and softening the stool, alleviating symptoms of constipation.
At-home remedies such as using a sitz bath and the cooling sensation from an ice pack can provide effective and convenient symptom relief during a piles flare-up. So, what do you do when the unavoidable happens – you have a haemorrhoid flare-up while you’re away from home?
eXroid is honoured and proud to be named this year's winner in the Kent Excellence in Business Awards (KEiBA) 2021 within the Technology Business of the Year category. 2021 has been a remarkable year and achieving this recognition speaks volumes about the agility and strength of our team. A huge thank you to the whole team for their resilience and dedication over the last few years.
We are excited to announce that have just gone live with our first ever TV advert. We are excited to announce the launch of a new clinic in Wimbledon, South-West London. The clinic opened on the 10th June with our newest recruit Gianlucca Bonanomi, a GMC-registered general surgeon. We pride ourselves on our patient pathway, easing haemorrhoid sufferers’ access to treatment so we are continually working on increasing the number of clinics across the UK.
Here at eXroid, we believe the best advocates for our treatment are our patients. Mrs Kennedy tells us her eXroid story of how, before being treated with us, she was struggling to sleep from the pain and pressure her haemorrhoids were causing her. Mrs Kennedy was unable to get treatment via the NHS, as the Covid-19 pandemic cancelled nearly all elective procedures and she chose to take her treatment into her own hands with eXroid. Read her story here, to see how the eXroid treatment has had a transformative impact on her life quality.
In May, our Medical Director and eXroid practitioner, Dr Mark Hudson-Peacock, led a talk for ARCH - the Association of Registered Colon Hydrotherapists. We are happy to share our expertise with our ARCH partners. We want to empower haemorrhoid sufferers, educating them on their condition through many different trusted channels. We are excited to announce our appearance in the Colorectal Disease peer reviewed medical journal. One abstract is entitled ‘The eXroid Clockface Assessment Tool (eCAT): a new tool to assist in recording proctological examination’. The article covers how our eCat diagram aids sufferers of proctological diseases understand their conditions and the progression of their symptoms after each treatment episode.
eXroid will appear in the Colorectal Disease peer reviewed medical journal in two article abstracts, one is entitled ‘eXroid Electrotherapy: a low-risk treatment for all grades of internal haemorrhoids’. Key conclusions of our research are that eXroid electrotherapy can be used successfully in all four grades of internal haemorrhoid disease; it can be used in those patients taking anticoagulants without the need to stop these prior to treatment; and the risk of serious adverse events is very low.
